Good Xmas, good New Year, theres my update.

Got myself a bit stressed out over a literature review for my degree........shouldn't have though cause I got a FIRST !!!!! Yee-haa!!!! Problem is that I tend to do my best work when I cram.....need to get a handle on that cause otherwise I am going to burn out BIG stylie. Only 2 essays, a presentation, a research project, child observations and exam revision to get done now.

So, with all that I obviously have got no time to do anything else?? Whatever - who needs sleep?? I can't go through a week without making something.......and as much as I love all things crafty: playing with paper, making jewellery etc etc there is nothing like going back to your roots, for me knitting and sewing, what I learnt to do first, thanks mum :o)

Jo has been creating some woolie gorgeousness and after being over-run with requests has set up a new website HERE..........she wanted some knitted stuff so have created a couple which are winging their way to her now. Then, I decided some shoes would be nice, but I couldn't quite get the pattern to balance, quick discussion with Mum and a search on the t'internet and this is my first 'trial' effort........vintage pattern, old wooley jumper felted by moi (which is also vintage in the fact that it has been around for about 15 years!!!) - what ya think?

They make me smile :o)

I am quite chuffed if I say so myself and now have a million ideas running round my head, mostly at night when I should be sleeping. Have now created a new pattern for my next pair.......now I just need some more wool jumpers, anyone???

It is 12.20 am......and college is in 9 hours time - this is how my days work out at the moment. After spending the last 9 hours sorting out a chemical quarantine collection, racing around on a fork lift truck and staring at a computer, I need to unwind !!!!!!!

Rest of my time is spent writing a literature review (which I am just NOT getting the hang of - it's hard!!!!), reading college books, child observations, writing up a 12 month project and dealing with every day stuff..............'me/us' time is sparse to say the least, but I am fitting in a bit of knitting when my head just won't take any more :o)

My motto when I feel like collapsing is if you want something bad enough you will work hard for it. Very rare I put myself first but with this I am (well, I am trying to)!!! My man is fab and understands why I am doing this to myself (even if he does nag that I am trying to do too much)- he cooks my tea every day and brings it to work (the only time he sees me Mon -Fri, some may think he is lucky?), he cleans, shops, washes and keeps house all week for me {xxxxxxx}

Off for my yearly trip in a couple of days to see my little man who is 5 next week - never missed one yet and not about to start now.

Fully laden with birthday and xmas pressies......about 20kilo's at a guess........!!!!!

So happy watching him grow up - I may be biased but he is a lovely little man ;o)

So, am I chilled enough to go to sleep yet ??? No. Oh well.

I am back.

Life is still the roller coaster it always is for me......you tend to get used to it after a while.

So in brief..............

1) Good news, after all my worrying and hurdles I passed my exams. Overall results for my first year was a FIRST !!!!!!!! Started back last week........quite missed it really!!!! Have to blog on my college blog (new techno homework!!!!!) hence I am not here as often cause I am there talking about........erm....stuff????

2) Bad news, our Becky Boo went off to doggy heaven. She has been with us for 8 years and was the ripe old age of about 15 so she did well. But the house is empty without her .......I am sure she is still here, following us around - just not leaving hair everywhere.

3) Had a lovely weekend in Southwold, beautiful place, relaxing and some lovely fish and chips.

4) Fab week in Wales camping, no phone reception, no internet, no tv just beautiful surroundings, me & mr Kev (I won't mention the rain or trying to walk up a mountain in a storm!!!!) This time we took the train up Snowdon.....walking it last year was enough !!!!!

6) Looking forward to my trip for Samuels birthday, one person who can make me smile and laugh when the rest of life is falling down about me.

7) Missing my grandad and my other grandparents. Lots of things would be different if they were here. I could always go down my grandads and have a good moan and he would too, we would moan together.

8) Dad has a new shop....The Bookmark - with that name it is obviously a bookshop !!! Lovely little shop with lots of prospects.

9) Making stuff - knitting cardis for my friends little girls doll's - making bags - xmas decs for the shop - blankets

Lots of hard work coming up and some decisions to be made.............life eh!!!!!

We have finally taken the plunge and sold the sofas. We do not have the largest lounge and there are not many 'available' walls to put stuff against and we have the largest sofas you could imagine!!!! The 3 seater could actually fit 5 and the 2 seater could actually fit 3......and there are only 2 of us in this house. So we decided that we were going to find some space. Off to IKEA as usual !!!!

My friend from work bought my sofas and I planned it right ~ so I thought ~ I checked and thought the new chairs were in stock.....whoops-a-daisy. Not available until the end of the month.

Here they are........1.5 seater chairs......gonna take a bit of getting used to 'cause we are used to a sofa each.

We do need a spare chair but I was going to wait till I found something I really want but when we cleared my Grandads house I decided that I would keep my grandma's chair. I miss her every day and I can still see her sitting in it and it still smells of her and now it will have a little space in my lounge :o)

Quite lucky I kept it really since they picked my sofa up last weekend......so I also saved my grandads orthopaedic chair for a while so we actually have 2 chairs. Picture it, me in my nanas chair, Kev in grandads.............lets just hope we don't get visitors who actually want to sit down!!!!!

Off to get my slippers, bed jacket and knitting...............

....exam that is, on Monday. Hopefully I can manage to scrape through, as long as I get a pass I will be pleased.

Grandad's funeral has been and gone, it was extremely emotional but totally what he deserved. Guard of honour, standard, last post - he would have been proud to have received it. One of his cards read 'farewell old soldier' and that is how he went. He is now with my Nana and all the others he has missed since they have gone and he is hopefully happy.

The rest of us are just trying to deal with what has happened. It has been hard, emotional and exhausting - very little sleep is being had.....which doesn't help with revising and acheiving those passes that I want !!!!!

On the trying to cheer ourselves up side.........my fab husband has got me a greenhouse. Unfortunately it is an extremely wet weekend so still some work to do on it but hopefully the rain will stop soon ?? It is a bit late to get much going but at the moment we have courgettes, aubergines, chillies, lettuce (lots of), tomoatoes, rocket, herbs.....all things we love to eat. I will prove to people - particularly my husband - that I can grow things !!!! and they will taste oh so lovely !!!! Gonna call it Grandads greenhouse after both of my grandads who loved to garden......then maybe it will be filled with their aptitude for successful growing !!!!

Right, signing off now, HAVE to concentrate on some revision.The phones are off/hidden because they haven't stopped for the past week or so and it doesn't help my concentration with so much distraction - I need to focus.......you don't want to see my phone bills for this month!!!!!
After Monday I should be able to relax a bit and get a grip on things.

A nice night at the theatre was had yesterday - we went to see Gervais Phinn at DeMontford in Leics - he is an ex teacher/examiner/school inspector and now writes and lectures with anecdotes about the people and students he has met along the way. Very amusing, I didn't find it quite as funny as some that seemed to be crying with laughter, but he was amusing. We actually thought we had turned up at the wrong show, 5 late 20-early 30's girlies in a theatre where the average age was, well, about 50.....maybe higher.....and the running commentary from 2 rows back was delightful - not!!!!
Anyhow, he reeled off a couple of poems, here is one I have found so far, called 'Anyway' by Mother Theresa:

Late night tonight, gonna wait up for the teRaa's to get here. 3 days off work, a curry, a trip to Warwick castle to see some real knights (one little 4 year old will be jigging with awe me thinks!!!!) await us and also, hopefully, a start on clearing my loft of 30 plus years of toys and memories. Managed to entice my Blyth obsessed sister into a night of sifting through boxes with the lure of many many boxes of Sindy accessories. How sad, all of our childhood belongings are now classed as vintage......how old will we feel digging through that lot !!!!! Be prepared for her to show lots of various Blythe poses.....Blythe on a horse, Blythe in the salon, Blythe in her jeep, Blythe on a camping trip........I am sure the list will be endless, apologies in advance !!

Grandad is poorly at the moment, a couple of days in the hospital now looks like it may turn to a couple of weeks unfortunately. He has some plants that he bought just before got ill, still in pots so think I may go and do my Percy Thrower impersonation tomorrow to cheer him up when he comes home :o)

hi....still here....?

There has been a lot going on of late so not been around much.

On my own tonight cause man is out being social and for some strange reason I have the Eurovision song contest on.......not usually done in this house but out of 400 plus channels it seemed like a good idea at the time. Must say, Mr Wogan takes some beating but Graham Norton is making me laugh.........what a life I lead - life on the edge, bring it on.

One more lecture left and three 2 hour exams and my first year at college will be done. Waiting for some work to be returned but at the moment I am averaging a 2:1 with a few firsts in there too so quite chuffed with it all. I don't always have the belief in myself and I think the perception I get of what others think I can (or can't) achieve is not always what they actually think(?). But I am getting the hang of this learning game again and I actually amaze myself sometimes with some of the stuff I can remember and discuss - just got to get the 'arguement' side of my writing polished up.......it is a noted fact, I am not great at argueing and teacher said I need to 'argue' more.......kev-man might disagree????

Creativity has ahd to take a back-burner but have managed to knock these out.

Finally......have signed my contract for a permanent job.......at least now I can take a day off on holiday and be paid for it......yeah. Just need some good news about Kevs redundancy now, ie he isn't !!!!

Managed to get back to school last week after my poorliness........getting a bit worried about the exams. Once we have had one lot we will sort of know what to expect but there is sooooo much to remember which is where I doubt myself. There are acts, policies, theorists, politicians and important writings all with their relevant dates and times........I really need a flip top head to pour all the info into !!!! One of the teachers told us to try exam cards to get the prominent points down.....so rather than them getting all tatty in the bottom of my bag and because I do not know where to get a flip top head from I have made this instead.

Anyway.....don't know why I am actually worrying about the exams.....got 3 essays to write before then. The questions are interesting and I can answer them I think (that is if after the 20th time of reading I have actually understood them finally!!!)....my problem is pen on paper making sense sort of stuff..........practice makes perfect I suppose - so why am I here rather than essay writing??????? Answers on a postcard please :o)

Other news....

Ma fella had a birthday last Thursday.

....and my nana's is on Wednesday. I miss her.

There are lots of photos of her when she was younger but not many later on 'cause she didn't like photos of herself........about a year after she had gone I found a roll of film in an old camera and this was on it. Grainy I know, but a good find.

Update on the life of Noo Noo.

UP's:

Mum is out of hospital & doing better

Been very busy studying & getting good grades (so far....sssshhhh don't jinx it)

Had fun on facebook - posted some school photo's which started some relivin (20 years ago.....ouch)

Day off work tomorrow (but I do have to spend it studying and finishing a report.....second language acquisition of bilingual children.......sound kinda smart don't I !!!!!!)

Bought a gorgeous new cupboard for my study....bargain price too (especially considering I nearly bought it at full price a few months ago - but I am tight so I didn't - see, my thriftyness pays off sometimes)....me loves a bargain peeps.

DOWN's:

No sister to talk to (cause she was off having fun with her other friends)

Want to go and see said sister but need time - oh and a bit of money wouldn't go amiss either.

Had a gas leak......I have been complaining about the smell of gas for a while but no-one believed me....correction, Kev didn't believe me. Today gas man came and mended the gas leak that is not there.....loose connection to new cooker.

Increase of 500% on my water bill (like 100 to 500 pounds!!!!!)- all because of a little leak inside the toilet - fabbo.

They are shutting down the whse where kev works-anyone got a job going....thought not.

Right....this list is getting a bit long so better stop before I thoroughly depress myself.

Here is said cupboard (except mine has stuff in it)...it is fab - big too !!!!!

And something finished....yey.....lots of sassafrass lovin going on.

And finally.......this is possibly gonna get me in to trouble.....oh well......just another number to add to the 101 reasons why I don't like noo noo list eh?.....lol.....I enjoyed making it (weeds and wildflowers digi stuff)

I listen to Radio 2. Love Jeremy Vine show.........actually quite informative sometimes.....yes it is now official.....I am old. Where are my slippers??
Anyway, whilst listening to Terry Wogan this morning...............I know...............I heard this. They do a 'pause for thought' section on the show and this is a cut down version of todays (here is the full version)........just thought it was nice and thought I would share. Relates well and happens to link to a convo I was having today. Confirms what I tell myself each day, something I learnt from my Nana.....everything happens for a reason and I was meant to hear this today and also I was meant to share it. 2009....here we come

Hi all. Hope you all had a fabulous christmas and new year celebrations have not left you all feeling too 'ruff'. We had a fab christmas with the cloggies.........lots of nice food (and take outs!!-more about that in a mo)...........lots of nice presents..........i even did a bit of scrapping and made a year book. One deal I have made with myself is that I am going to try and write in it often.....not every day cause that deal would soon be broken, just often.

We did not do anything for new year - I am not really a new year celebrator...........starting a new year with a hang over does not appeal !!!!! I actually find new year a bit scarey and depressing - no reason.

Anyway, lovely new year ahead what does it hold??

The big problems for 2008 are coming with us to 2009 but hopefully we will see and end to them - I have faith......so fingers crossed for a good one !!!!!!

and........we have a new kitchen.......finally !!!!!!

In true Katja style nothing went to plan. The schedule date of 19th came and went.......we had no cooker, sink, cupboards....anything. Delays in electric work and due to the cold weather the floor took 2 days to dry the sealant........the builder was without his assistant for a day - get the picture? Finally, day before christmas eve we told him to just get certain jobs done and come back after christmas........everyone deserves a christmas break, right? He was most pleased:o)

So last 2 days the finishing touches have been made and I now have my kitchen that I have been longing for over the past 12 years. Ok so the wallpaper still needs hanging but apart from that we are done. And if I say so myself.....it looks fan-bloody-tastic!!!!!!!
Will post some pics later or tomorrow.
Also, whilst I was at work one day last week my sis got everyone into gear and got my lounge painted for me, the floors scrubbed and all the furniture back in place all in 8 hours !!!!! So I have a fab fresh lounge too.

Off to study.......no rest for us academics you know....lol xxxx

Today.........very tired after only 6 hrs sleep........rough morning at the hospital........lots of stuff to do at work (but at least we had a laugh towards the end of the day)........the house is still a tip.......the paint I chose is SOOOOO not the right colour........done lots of moaning at Kev {poor Kev} and he hasn't lost his patience 'yet'..............and to top it all off the builder is now not expecting to finish until Sunday - how fabulous!!!!! Luckily I have a fab sister who is happy to clean with me {and I am sure I can get Sam on the case with a feather duster} :o)

My bed is calling.............sleep........lovely sleep...........x

No, I haven't fallen off the edge of the planet......still here.....stressed, busy, stressed (repeating myself, yes....just so you get the point !!!!! I have lots of excuses......

Mummy is poorly sick and in hospital, 4th week now so I am spending as much time as I can there.

School, lots of work done and to do. We have finished for xmas now but unfortunatley my attendance had to take a bit of a nose dive last week cause of the above and generally being exhausted!!!!!

Kitchen renovations.........as per usual I do not do things the easy way. This week we have the builders in to fit my sparkly new cuisine !!!!!!! Fabulous thought but the reality is we are living in a......not sure what best word describes it without obsenities.....basically a building site !!!!! First the kitchen innards are all upstairs, some in my scrap room, some under my bed, some in the spare room.....in other words everywhere apart from the kitchen where it is meant to be. We are having a newly plastered ceiling in the kitchen so in our wisdom we thought we would save a job in the new year and have the lounge done too......what a great idea......NOT!!!!!!! Therefore the whole lounge barr the sofas are in my scrap room, some under my bed, some in the spare room.....get the picture???? NO???? well here is some proof, this is my study/scrap room......'WHERE??' I hear you cry....'exactly' I answer. And this is just one room......the only place I have to sit is my bed which is surrounded by school books. And don't get me started on microwave food.....which to be honest has not been too bad but can't wait to cook something 'proper'.

I wish I was better at the before and after thing but I forget the before bit so here are some of the during.........

Nasty cupboards are no more.....

Nasty textured ceilings are no more.......

Once there was a door....but now no more (it has settled a bit more since it was done so doesn't look quite so obvious!!!!!)

Today they made my cloakroom into a temporary a utility/laundry room (if you can call 3 years temporary.....we need to save for an extension!!). Well, that is one less toilet for me to clean....yeah.

Tomorrow the floor goes down and then the units can go in........and it all needs doing by Friday.....cause then the cloggies arrive and at the moment they would have to share their bed with a dinner service, half a welsh dresser and some flat packed kitchen units.

And I need to paint at some point too.

Will show you the finished result....... :o)

Back at the hospital first thing in the morning so off to try and find the shower........?????

Fab time was had by all in Disneyland..........nice little sideline from all the shit that is going on at the moment. We all just need to catch our breath a bit. Not easy but I am sure it will all come right in the end. I have faith.

Will post some photo's of our escapades with Mr Mouse when I get chance.

Got to go on the annual christmas party dress hunt on Sat. Every year I am adament that I will get my dress well before the date I need it but yet again 'last minute loo' strikes again and I am still dress-less for next Saturday. Not for the want of trying may I add...had a dress mail ordered but the fit was terrible....tried to order a couple more but they were sold out or not available in my size....having one ordered to store for Sat, fingers crossed it will fit!!!!

I am having a new kitchen ner ner ner ner ner !!!!! I have hated my kitchen for well, ever actually. 2 things that nearly stopped me buying the house 12 years ago was the peach - barf - bathroom (which has now been eradicated) and the kitchen....but it is to be no longer.....the kitchen is outa here yeah!!!!!!!!!

Lots of stuff to be going on - building - new electrics - new plumbing as I am finally getting a dishwasher after many years of nagging from Jo and Dad - new cupboards and tops - new floor with underfloor heating (oooooooh) and lots of fancyfying things.

Will put some before and afters on soon but meanwhile.......we already got these.....

I am living on water from the filter jobby on the fridge freezer and as there are only 2 of us we are still trying to fill the fridge after 2 weeks !!!!! The cooker is still in it's box..........the hood is under my bed.....hopefully the builder will be able to start soon !!!!

of a few things......like this blogging stuff. Infact done no scrapping or me stuff for a while......hopefully tonight I might go in search of Mr Mojo, he has not been lost, just buried for a while. So whats been happening.......????

1) Going to school - still liking it. The girls on the course are nice. Teachers are great. Just very different way of learning. We are encouraged to keep a record of our studies in the form of a blogsortofthingy.....so I have another place..... http://www.noonooislearning.blogspot.com/ .....only study updates and ramblings over there.....but you are welcome to say hi!!!!! :o)

2) Mummy has been very poorly......she has a problem with her lungs and has been in hospital for 11 days. She has however been sent home today. This has bought other problems back to the light and the last 11 days have been.....well.....tiring. Not something I wouldn't do cause it's my mum right!! Nothing I wouldn't do for her. A new friend from school lost her mum suddenly 3 weeks ago and she wasn't even 60.......makes you stop in your tracks and think what you are lucky for as death always does. Our Mum is a fab Mum, she just hasn't had the best of luck in life.
So basically for the past 11 days I have left the house at 9 and got back at 9.......then I have had to do homework. Not talking 1+1 here, theorists, rights, acts.........stuff you get quite engrossed in so bed time has been 12 earliest (sometimes up to 2....but shhhhh not meant to stay up late on a school night!!!)

Put it in simple terms..... I AM KNACKERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3) Been a whole year since nana went on her way........and the house was finally handed over to the new owners on Wednesday evening. Sad that it is not there anymore but it was the people that made the house.......it was what we shared in the house that is important, not the house itself, that was a big box to contain all the things in life they gave us and we all shared.......now they are gone we have packed up the memories and taken them away.........but if the new owners are lucky there may just be a bit of that happiness left in a corner somewhere!!!!! They would be truely fortunate people then :o)

5) Got some new boots on order........from where Janette works........fab to have someone back in the clothing industry again so you can get discounts!!!!! yay for step mums!!!!!!! (http://www.joulesclothing.comcheck out the slippers & wellies too!!!)

Anyway....aren't they fabulossi!!!!! Special purchased for our Disney trip....I did tell you we were going to Disney right??!!! my current boots I have had for years (and i mean years!!), they were £5 from a cheapo shop but they are super!!!!! Only prob is that the soles are VERY worn and my feet are getting wet. Uggs are £130!!!!!! and I very nearly got them but then I saw these beauties :o)

quite a ramble there just to tell you that I have new shoes!!!!

Right, off to do some work......go home....feed poochie woochie.....jarmies on......sit in my new scrap room........forgot to mention that, I have a new bigger much improved srap room. Need to finish sorting it cause not quite finished yet cause like I said when I started 10 minutes ago........life got in the way.....!!!!!

This was my last entry for bad girls.......I got through-yeah......but I didn't manage to register for the next bit in time and they don't allow any leniencies-boooo!!!!! So there we go.

This week has not started out that good and we are only on Tuesday so updating now before it gets much worse !!!!!

School is good. We have spent most of it so far doing study skills and enrollment stuff but what we have done is interesting. I am looking forward to just getting on with the learning bit really. Did get an A+ on my first presentation which is quite good, just need to keep it going................glass half empty syndrome? -told you, bad week.

Absolubtly shattered, fed up and generally crappy......forgot to have my Bvit injection and can't get into my docs till Thursday.....booooo. Called them up and asked for an appointment to be asked 'is it important?'...........'well nooooo mrs receptionist-just thought I would come and have a chat about what the doc is doing for christmas and where he may be holidaying next year, thanks for asking love'.

Been a year since nana died on Sunday.......a year has passed by so quick and such a lot has happened. We have lost a lot in 12 months. My babies should have been here by now too. Lot of stuff playing on my mind.

Had a fab little impromtu visit from the cloggies last week which cheered me up.........nice little bit of time out. Nice to be able to shop with someone other than myself......or Kev.......he tries but he ain't my sister, no siree.

Sammy (well Jo in the guise of Sam!!!!) bought me this fabulous bag..........isn't it marvelous!!!!!

I got the green one.......dreamy :)

We went to Drayton Manor to Thomas Land.......we had a lovely day and we got to ride in Clarabel who was happily pulled along by Thomas, and the Runaway roller-coaster was a hoot.......Sammy laughed his little head off.

Now that has put a smile on my face :)

A new chapter

Have started moving into my new scrap/craft/study room.....half of the furniture is now painted - has really helped that we had some nice weather this weekend to dry the paint.
Just need to decide now on what colour to paint the walls - was going to do a wall of paper but I am always changing my mind on wall colours so it is easier if I just paint!!! What do you all think to these colours....

Wanted an antiquey greyish bluey kind of colour. One wall in the darker and the rest in the light or all 4 in the lighter shade???? mmmmm decisions decisions

Made my old scrap room ~ the small room ~ into the spare room. Did my usual trick of ripping the carpet up. I HATE CARPETS !!!!!! When you actually take them up you realise just how much dust and dirt they hold - no matter how fandabidozi your hoover is and how many times an hour you hoover!!!! My house now officially has no carpets.....upstairs is now just white painted floorboards and big hesian rugs. If this doesn't suit we will put laminate down....I just wanted to get rid of the blasted carpets :o)

Will post pics when I am done.

Will find out tonight if I am through to the next round of badgirls top designer. For this round I entered this....

Grandad took us out for a curry tonight - a ghurka curry.....delicious. The rest of the evening is now to be spent eating a big bowl of trifle (yumm), ironing clothes, having a relaxing shower and getting my stuff together so that I am not rushing around in the morning.....first day of school. Have been a bit (make that muchio) stressed about it today....worrying still....just need to get the first few days over with and I will be alright

.....to quite a few things.
1) Disney - only another 9 1/2 weeks to wait !!!! Sam & I are very excited !!!!
2) School - well actually this one crept up on me. The school are being a bit slow at sending paperwork out and I received a letter last week to tell me that we officially start on 29th Sept but we will be doing one of the modules w/c 22nd.....yeah, next week !!!
Bit nervous really.....wondering/hoping I am doing the right thing. One of the full time jobs has been posted at work.....for quite a few pennies.....I was asked to apply but would mean choosing not to go to uni. But like my Kevvy said - if I don't do it I will always wonder 'what if' - can always rely on a chat with Kevvy and a phone call with ma sista to make me see sense!!!!!! I know what I should be doing but sometimes I get a bit doubtful about myself and just need a bit of reassurance - I haven't always made the best decisions in my life and s'pose without those decisions life may have been simpler and less painful but hey I wouldn't be where I am now.....here and now, on a new adventure, surrounded by lovely people.
3) I made it through the first week of Bad Girls Top Designer with this...........

4) Nearly finished decorating our bedroom.........just 2 more rooms to go - this is highly amusing in my house if you knew JUST how much Kev hates painting!!!!
5) Diet......doing the no carb at night thing this week again like my dad told me - yeah he is a health guru (tee hee).....roasted veg & fish, oh and 3 freshly baked Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookies. What, they contain carbs ?? never !!! You are joshing me !!!

We are off to Disneyland wooohooo....Paris not Florida but who cares !!!!! Can't wait. Kev will have to go without sleep for a day so we can catch the ferry nice and early but thats his fault for working late shifts....who needs sleep anyway when you have Disney magic ???? Is it time yet ???? are we there yet ????

Not made much....too busy decorating. Realised though that one shouldn't really paint too late and then sleep in the room one has painted......makes one feel a bit odd!!!!!

We think we are taking the house off the market and going to spend the money on an extension and new kitchen. The house we want to buy needs a complete central heating system fitting, complete rewire, shower fitting, and the usual decorating and 'stuff' and might possibly be a bit much whilst studying and holding down a full time job.......we do love the other house though....... :o(

.....for schoolday rejection all over again!!!!!!
My cousin asked me if I was on facebook so that I can see pics of her new boyfriend.....so I went on it.....friends from work 'added me' as a friend and in 3 days I had 5 friends, not bad really. But then I found a few friends from school so I said 'Hi'......problem is that now wondering if any of them will say 'Hi' back. What if they don't?? I will be in the schoolyard land of rejection again.
Why do we set ourselves up for this kind of thing???? LOL. Thought it was a good idea at the time....not so sure now.....will update how many of the 4 I found answer back :o) Keep ya eyes peeled.

Quick post cause I am busy.......

This popped into my head the other day........oooohhhhh how we loved him !!!!!! Back in the ark days of vcr players Jo & I would sit poised infront of the tv....finger on record button.....ready to record our fave songs on Sat chart show.....and the day this came on oh my goodness!!!!!
I think we forgot to press record that very first Saturday we heard it....we were mesmerised. How gorgeous is he in this vid.

A couple of years later my dad got us tickets to see them live, at the time he was dating Kylie (Michael H not my dad!!!!!) and she was there too. I always wanted to go and see them again.....oh well....enjoy this blast from the past on me :o)

Home again. Back from our jollidollidays to N Wales. And we had a great time.
Great campsite.
Good weather (most of the time ;o) )
Up and down castle turrets.
Meandering along lakesides.
The most spectacular scenery.
Oh and we climbed Mount Snowdon.......REWIND.......yes, we climbed Mount Snowdon. All the way to the top. 10 mile round trip....uphill....7 hours. We were going to get the train (yes, they have a little steam train that goes nearly to the summit) but then we thought it would be nice to have a little wander.......yeah wahteva !!!!! 3/4 of the way up I was in the midst of one of those days when you can't even envisage the end of the day. It was like on of those queues at Alton Towers where you think the next corner will be the end but it actually only leads to another corner. It was really hard work.

After all that though, reaching the top was fantastic. A test and an achievement. Lots of times I could have given up but I didn't. And something that doesn't happen very often....I am proud of myself (& my Kevy).

Right, now for those that may be in doubt that I actually got to the summit, here is the dial on the summit

and if you are still in doubt......would I really look this rough if I had got the train up, come on, really !!!!!

More good news.....looks like I have got into University !!!!!! Just need the confirmation letter but the admissions lady said it was all ok so far, should know 100% by next week :o)

Still feeling rubbish.......and this cough is seriously driving me up the blinkin wall........

A nice big bar of chocolate would well do the trick........3 weeks now without........then again, that along with the lovely nutritious shake for lunch and a good bought of a virus and I have lost 2.7 kilo's !!!! Bargain. If you want to starve and feel like cack that is !!!!! Think thin?? think hungry more like !!! Oh well.....I am sure I will change my mind when I look slightly less like a hippo in my 'kini on the beach :o) Only another 13 kilo's to go !!!!!!!

Booked our campsite for August today.........Wales.........fingers crossed this time because last time we went we left within 24 hours !! Lovely looking campsite in Beddgelrt (sp?) and we will be attempting to climb up Snowdon (well a bit of it anyway).......sleeping bags are washed and aired, gas bottle is full, well it would be if Kev would stop lighting the campstove and saying 'look Kat, it works'......????

Happy Birthday for Jo for yesterday too............she is in the US so I have had no-one to talk to all week and they are gone for another two weeks yet..........lucky bat is at CHA, so not fair to go without me.

I am home.......happy to see my Kevy but sad cause didn't get to stay very long and never like leaving my Sam and Jo.

If you don't already know....I didn't get the Cosmo DT place.......bummer really cause it is the only one I have applied for even though there are loads going on at the moment........and me & Jo were really excited too.........no nice new product for me then !!!! Really struggle to get brand new releases over here........internet shopping it will be then!!!!! I do get a consolation prize of a set of the CC new cha releases which is nice.

Hi from sunny (but rainy tonight) holland...............

Today Samuel had a party at school based on a farm theme so sam gave us a choice, he either went as buzz lightyear (who i do not believe lived on a farm) or Mr Pig......so Mr Pig it was.......and guess who won first prize !!!!!!!!!!!!! What you can't see is the curly wurly tail on his trousers which he proudly wiggled for anyone who asked :o) Will post a pickture when we have downloaded them.........amazing hat you can do with a bit of pink foam and a toilet roll !!!!!!!!!!

.....the diet started today...........did really well all day - probiotic for b/fast - diet shake for lunch - carrots for a snack - homemade veg soup for tea.............then I am sitting here minding my own bloody business and a tub of icecream snuck out of the freezer, stealth moved across the kitchen and attacked me and forced several spoons of itself in my mouth. No matter how hard I fought back.....the will of the butterscotch crunch was just too strong.

Look at my lovely soup.....made it all by myself !!!!! It tasted superb..........I am lurvin me some soup (by now Jo has just been a little bit sick) it would have tasted much better with a few slices of fresh crusty bread but hey, that is not good for the diet now is it. I TOLD YOU...THE ICE CREAM ATTACKED ME - THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO !!!!!!!!

One day I will be a slinky malinky..........one day...

Might be pre-emtive there.....still thursday and friday to go !!!!!!!! But so far, good week !!!!

After a crappy spell we decided to cheer ourselves up with some retail therapy on Saturday........

Well, it cheered us up :o) We have been wanting the PS3 for ages and the games are getting limited for the PS2 and I was actually meant to have the printer for my birthday....back in April but I couldn't justify it. I am not tight......just careful !!!!!!! Have learnt about money the hard way unfortunately !!!!

Then.......yesterday........complete shocker.........I got picked out of over 300 peeps to be in the final 12 of the Cosmo Cricket DT search.......I know.....how flippin fantastico is that !!!!!!!!

Wish me luck for the final leg.....I am on a roll.......

To top the week off decided to book a flight to see my little bit of sunshine and Jo. These things have to be done !!!!!! Somehow got to fit everything into a small holdall.....you save £5 each way by booking online but then they charge £8 each way for a suitcase and another £4 each way to book in (!!!!) and THEN another £5 to pay for it by card......how else are you meant to pay for it on the internet ???? ......again, I am not tight......just careful.........honest !!!

Happy fathers day ............

Here we are with our dad......I am the one in the snappy dungarees !!!!!!!

Today is also a bit of a sad day for us as it is the day my nana died 6 years ago. I miss her very much and I don't really have anyone to talk to about her which is quite hard. I wish she could make me soup and carrots again, tell me the recipe for waffles (the one she wrote down for me is sooooo not the right one!!!!), give me a hug and so many other everyday things.

Kept busy today.....cleaned 2 cars.....stripped a million layers of paint from a door handle I scavenged (will show that another day).......yummy dinner cooked....kev sanded and repainted Becky Boos bed....a game of trivial persuit.......not bad really seeing as I didn't get out of my pit until 11.30 !!!!!!

Back on a cheerier note soon hopefully :o)

New necklace..

......the J is for Janette our stepmum who's birthday it was on Sunday....

.....necklace is made from vintage beads and the brass thingy on the bottom is a locket.

I love collecting this kind of stuff and turning it into...well....more stuff !!!! Hopefully going to be able to find somewhere to share them soon..........

We have a poorly car...Kevs, not mine cause mine is the NooNoomobile which runs on fairy dust which is magic. So far it has been in the garage 3 days.....going towards the 4th and they still can't tell us what is wrong with it.....to me that sounds expensive !!!!!! Meantime Kev has the NooNoomobile which leaves me with my feet.......or 2 wheels. Believe it or not I have actually managed to drag my fat ass out of bed 20 minutes early for 2 days running and opted for the 2 wheels !!!! When I think about that myself I go lightheaded but indeed I have managed it and even in the rain this morning !!!

DT search is up over at Cosmo Cricket........now that would be good........guessing I am not the only one to see it though........

fluffy flower lesson........

Right, as requested here is how to make that there flower........

You can use any kind of paper......even old newspaper. In these pics mine are done with pages from old books.

Hand cut circles out of the paper - this one uses about 10 circles (all the same size) - cut them all out together to save time.

Cut straight lines towards the centre of the circle.......but obviously not all the way else you will just end up with bits of paper all over your desk !!!!!!!!! The cuts will more than likely be of different lengths....not a prob.

I find it easiest to cut the quarter circle lines first.

Seperate out all the circles....then put them back together - there is a reason for this....it makes it fluffier :o)

Secure the middle I do a staple cross but you can use a brad or similar.

Now, screw it up tight in your hand - a few times...................really !!!!

Now in that ball of paper, find the back of those staples..........and sort of flatten out the back as its base.....you might lose a few 'petals' at this point.

Lay it on the table, ink it, prune it, fluff it.....voila !!!!!

See what I bought this weekend....
I stopped by the local church stall this weekend to get a couple more books. As I was checking out the few there the gent on the stall asked if I would like to see the other 'couple' of boxes they had......we went inside the church and there were twenty plus more boxes !!!! Had to stop myself !! look at the gorgeous flowery one......

We were bought up with parents who taught us to appreciate old books so I think it has rubbed off........the kitchen smelt like lovely old musty books mmmmm. I like to collect old bibles, hymn and prayer books. I found a couple of bibles and was about to put one back because it was fairly damaged/loved when I found this letter from 1925......couldn't leave it there after that.

This book is called 'Everybodys Best Friend', one of those books that gives advice from how to know when your daughter is ready to go courting to dealing with chapped nipples and club foot.....obviously everyday information !!!!!! The chapter that caught my eye was the one about 'difficult husbands' and 'difficult wives'.....what to do if your wife is 'too domesticated', shows her child too much attention or is too 'socially ambitious' and 'difficult husbands'...... how to deal with a husband if he is too demanding of his 'rights' or likes to 'take a drink'.......well worth a good read!!!!!

Off to do some more creating.......can I possibly do 3 lo's in a weekend ??????

.....I am now 20,14 yrs old and10 days. With a new hair do I last had when I was 5....A FRINGE....can't see it very well here but you can all breath a sigh of relief cause then you don't have to see the chubby chops behind the camera!!!!!!!

a big pile of scrap stash from my sis........which I didn't take photos of before I started attacking it.......woooops.....with some great pop tape and tonic (tim holtz) tools including the scratchy one-you need one of those (well if you like scratchin photo's you do!!)!!!!!! I made this with just a lickle bit if wot she got me. Mojo has done a runner though.........

Spent my birthday week in Holland with Sam and Jo.....bit of a tradition now!!!!! we scrapped a bit, played a bit, went out for nice food, shopped a bit......xx Just sad that you have to say goodbye at the end........

Started another new job on Tuesday.......back where I worked before - all is good so far.

Feeling a bit poo at the mo with my cold that my dad kindly gave me, the deaf ear my cold/dad has given me, my pulled muscle in my neck, my bruised arm from a door and my bruised head from hitting it on some racking at work...............

(NOTE:Skip this if you get easily bored.......Had a pretty poo day (few days really) and unusually for me (they only come once in a while), a bit of a 'feeling maudlin', thoughtful and deep' kind of sideline. I REALLY need to start to keep a journal!!!!!!)

I don't think it has helped that we have possibly the FINAL meeting with the fertility doctor tomorrow. As happy-a-face that I put on it (again for the outside world).....it is still very painful to face. We need to discuss what is left for us.....at £3k a go, soon the money runs out. I know God has a plan for us.......would be nice to know what it is though!!!!!!!! Any clues????

House viewing was quite a no hope......family of 5 turned up!!!!!.........in my little 3 bed 'castle'???.....do people actually read the statistics on the house brief????????

Bought me this today.....
Been wanting one for a while and decided on this today....meant to be for my bedroom in the new house but as that is taking so long I am going to put it in my current bedroom.....I know, I was probably a hooker in a previous life......!!!!!

Been playing around with PShop......Sam seems to have caught the bug and loves to take photos.......we took this one last time I was there. Kev's first comment was 'trouble'........think it was aimed at both of us !!!!!

Waiting over 2 weeks for a scrap stash delivery to find its way to little ol' Nuneaton......home from work and found the 'sorry you were not at home card' through the letter box......but not to fret, parcel left at the next door neighbour.....BUT HE WON'T ANSWER HIS DOOR!!!!!!!!!!! I can see my parcel through his glass door, sitting there on his mat, crying for me to come fetch it ......................................................................

Knock at the door..........neighbour with parcel......yeah..........but it is the Buzz Lightyear helmet I ordered for my bestest buddy (sam...incase you don't know me and had no idea I was obsessed !!!!!!) More on that later........watch out for a post at the end of April......should be worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!

New job is veeeeerrrrrry tiring. Lots to learn and take in and lots of calls to take.......now I love talking on the phone but 6.5 hours a day is even stretching it for me !!!!!! Been offered another job though, flexi time so it fits in with college in October but back to doing admin/warehouse work. To be honest I don't think manual warehouse work is this tiring !!!!!

Found my new car......brace yourself......it is a stunner......just need a spare bit of cash.........is this not a teachers car !!!!!!!! Totally in love with it.

Just a quick post cause I need to go to bed.

Started my new job.....sort of interesting.....main thing is it suits my current needs for now. Decided that I am going to go back to Uni to get a degree and qualify to be a teacher. Have done all the leg work, just now need my application to be accepted and wait to start in October. I am quite excited about it all. I have to spend 4 years at Uni so possibly 17 years after I tried it the first time, I may actually get to graduate.....fingers crossed !!!!!!

SIS projects and applications are finally done - just waiting for the results. Not sure which way it is gonna go but I made it to the end which is something I suppose !!!

Made this for my honey for his birthday.....

A Winnie the Pooh saying......if you live to be one hundred then I want to live to be one hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you......pukey I know, but I do love him !!!!!!

I suprised him and took him to Jongleurs for the night....we had a really nice night. We had an invite out for a drink last night - so we ventured down to a 'local' club.....my oh my.......'local' it was - conjure up scenes from League of Gentlemen (the funny one not the Sean Connery one).

Ther was a lone entertainer man on one of those keyboard guitar things singing Billy Idol and The Monkees............the only thing that was missing was the chap with the painted face and the clouds of cigarette smoke (only cause that is now illegal!!).

......yesterday I got a lovely mail to say I was going to be published in 'Artful Blogging' with the layout that I won OLW with....I am well chuffed !!!!

Job watch: 1 interview done....two next week.
One for a pastry company - pies for lunch, dinner and tea!!!! and the odd pastie maybe...
And the other.....a bacon company - somehow the chap picked up that I was more likely to have a plate of veggies than a pork chop though....don't know how??!! Sam will be pleased with this cause Kev is known as Uncle Kev 'who makes very nice bacon sandwiches'.

How come I am getting interviews for food companies......are they saying I like food or somink? How can they tell??!!

And I got through to part 2 of SIS dt member search....then again there are about 100 of us so a long way to go yet!!

Today would have been my Nana & Grandads anniversary......63 years.....for us to make it that far Kev will have to make it to 107 years old.....mmmmmmm.......

We are 8 today.........

We celebrated in my lunch hour with a Starbucks and a subway.........oooohhhh aren't we exciting!!!!! Then again I am the only one in my office that gets treated to 'lunch dates' so I am a lucky gal really xxx

and my mummy was celebrating her birthday too......

a bit sad in places because one of the first things she realised was that it was the first time her mum & dad had not rung her to say happy birthday.....another one of those days that gets saved by relying on all those good memories you have.........and a phone call from Samuel - that brightens anyones day!!

Yes, rather than doing things I should instead I have been messing around on the computer....dang thing...decided to have a new banner, fed up of looking at my mug to be honest!!!!!

Got a lovely package yesterday of vintage japanese beads and things....

This is some of the stuff that I have been squirrelling away for the new store.....might have to sample some myself first though!!! That is the problem with selling things you love, you want to gobble it all up yourself!!!!

Got some more stuff arriving soon....keep checking the store as we should be able to get up and running soon. We just need to iron out a couple of teething issues and clear up work schedules and we should have lift off!!!!

Hello 2008 - what ya knowin??

Hey ho, off we go, into another year. We saw it in very quietly....both not feeling too well.........we spent it together though which is the best way to be any day of the year, not just the last and first!!!!

2007 did have some good bits but the last few months were so 'foggy' that they are a bit hard to see. However, I am a firm believer of things happening for a reason. Without sounding too profound (lol) I lay in bed yesterday and realised what good has come of the past 6 months.......I survived it.

I think some would have thought I wouldn't and if I am honest I had my doubts!!!!!!! But I did it.....and I am proud of myself for doing it. Hark at me...survive and proud all in one go!!!!! Wee hee.

So what has this year got in store for us I wonder.......hopefully some good answers to the 'issues' 2007 threw at us!!! I don't do resolutions - bit pointless really, if something needs to be done do it anyway, don't wait till new year!! I do have a list of stuff on my 'to do' list though......

Get a job - along the way I am actually gonna figure out what I want to do with my life....32 and still not sure!! I don't mind my job and some days I leave the house 'hi hoing' my way to the office......but I am in search of that dream job (see further down the list!!!!)

Keep searching for our miracle child........somewhere......(see further down the list)

Hopefully sell our house.....the new one is all decorated in my head and if we don't get in there soon it will be time to redecorate and my head is just too full at the moment!!!!

Create more. Starting a pottery course in Feb(ish)....just something I always wanted to do.

Just how I feel at the moment (and yes that is/was me).

After all that has happened over the past few weeks and months you think I would have a clear run until the end of the year.........but oh no!!!!!!!!!

On Tuesday, the day after we buried my grandad, I found out that as of this Monday i will be redundant.......no really - no joke.

Currently taking guesses as to what else can possibly happen before we see 2008!!!!!!!

Gotta keep smiling..........well thats the theory anyway :o)

Yippee, yey, woohoo.....my OLW prize from just cre8 came on Friday !!! For some reason it has taken the posties 6 weeks to get it to me but now it is mine hahahahaha......................

I got the full shabang kit with all of the add-ons: there are stamps, versa ink, chip buttons, oodles of paper, rub ons, diamond brads and lots of other stuff.

Bad weekend for the diet.....I ate some bread - oh no - shock horror. Not put any on though so that is ok.

Off toHolland this week for my mate Sam's birthday party. He will be 3..........I can't imagine not knowing him. This time 3 years ago we were wondering what he was gonna look like and what kind of little boy he was gonna be.......the answer GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS..........if you have not met him you should cause you would fall in love with him straight away. He is why I am Noo-Noo & I love him.

I got new hair.....well not actually new - just done (for a change) !!!!!!! This is prob the only time it will look like this until my next appointment cause I am not good at hair.........2 weeks and we will be going for colour too !! How exciting.

Point and shoot photo's tonight.....nothing technical here, but I like the way they turned out.

We don't do fireworks.....kev would love to but my parents instilled the firework fear in me many years ago so he is not allowed any (yes dad....I told him you won't let him have any)!!!! ....so we watch the main town display from our porch - it happens to be just across the road so we get quite a good view!!!!

This little lady is not too chuffed tonight....she don't get the fireworks thing.

A deep and meaningful for today.......Sometimes keeping things to yourself doesn't work.
There are sites I read where people tell their own stories but in turn they sometimes help your thoughts too.
We are on a 'journey' at the moment, one that we have been on before that few knew about, but this time I have told people. I figured out that the right people give you the right support. It isn't easy to tell people but when you have it's ok.

You need support, caring and understanding.........all these things help your journey but only one thing can heal it.

I wasn't going to write this on here but I found this which made me decide (turn up the sound). Our journey had a couple of different roads but it joins the same path.

This is not for sympathy....I have good friends and family. I just wanted to share it because it is beautifully done. Any prayers welcome. (Thanks to Joxx)

Class 4 on bad girls was 'white space'......here is my take on it.

Photo (me & my sis) is on transparancy which worked really well....gonna be doing that again me thinks! I didn't get through to the next class though........not sure why......there is space...and it is white.......I was quite please with it really.

Still laid up with my back, can't actually sit up for long and the meds are making me sleep a lot.......so I am bored bored bored. There is only so much 'dog the bounty hunter' one person can watch!!!!!

Other news.....

Through to round 4 on bad girls kits top designer competition.

Camera is back - woohoo! So on our sunday walk I clicked away at my two honeys.

On the not so pleasant side.......after an altercation in the shower on mon (on my own I may add!) I have slipped or trapped something, somewhere......anyway it hurts......like -----. Can't stand, sit or lie down so pain killers and a hot water bottle are keeping me company!!

Oh well......can't complain........................... :o)

The littlest things......

....mean the biggest things.

1) Sam listed me top of his list of people he loved. He may not really have put me at the top of the list, but the fact that his mum thought to tell me that was where I was....well, that was nice.

2) Lovely compliment at work about my good influence.........thats nice.

3) Lunchtime sarnies delivered every day to work by my husband (really just an excuse to see me, surely?).....thats nice.

4) Added a few (!) pounds in weight in 2 weeks (due to treatment I may add, not just cause I am a greedy munch bag!!!!!) - friends pretend not to really notice and remind me why to help keep me sane.......thats nice.

5) Camera 1 week closer to being repaired.....thats nice.

6) Lie in tomorrow....thats nice.

Generally quite a nice week in the end........nice that just a few small words & actions from a few people can make a rubbish week into a good one.

I have become an ebay freak!!!!!!!! Just won my first thing - an old prayer/hym book set. Quite sad really that someone kept it for nearly 100 years and I just bought it for less than 2 quid.
Managed to pass the first class for Top Designer over at bad girls kits with this....
Just need to pass the next 5 weeks....I am on a man-missi as my Samuel would say (a'man mission' to anyone that doesn't know a nearly 3 year old bilingual honey!!)

Another mission in the offing tomorrow.....gonna take my camera to the camera mending shop...I am even driving it to the shop to speed things up slightly and to make sure there is no more damage done!! Hopefuly max of two weeks and he will be home...aaaaahhhhhh.

Last mission of the day...we are all off to Disney Paris (sort of). Just need sgt Harry (BiL) to let us know when we can go - no he isn't mean or bossy, he just has limited hol time so we work around him and we wouldn't go without him :o) Planning for April....stuff goin on at the mo and need something to look forward to....what better than a trip to fantasyland.

Not much happening....apart from rain.
Done a bit of scrappin - two layouts in as many days........someone pick my sister up she may have fainted!!!!!

One day your life is going on its merry way, along the 'normal' direction. You think all is well. Then one day your bubble bursts and you come back to reality and realise that all was not well, far from it. When you wake up from that it is like having a slap across the chops, a kick up the but and a thump in the guts and you wonder and worry where you will be going next. I shouldn't have worried, I ended up in a much better place..........here.

BACK TO REALITY.......

We are back from our European road trip, back to reality, back to work, cooking, cleaning.....get my despair?!!

First stop was Holland to join up with the rest of the crew - Jo, Harry, Sam, Kryn, Bert and Corrie. Then a 2am start to Lake Guarda, overnight stay (with a spot of icecream!!!mmmm!!!) and then to our 'home' for the next week - Villa San Donato. The villa was as good as we expected....if not better, an isolated converted church on a dirt track road surrounded with beautiful scenery, olive groves and a private pool. A day was spent at S Gigmiano, one at Florence and one at Sienna - all beautiful places and we had great weather - up to about 37 degrees.......don't worry my mum was keeping me in check with the rain back in the uk!!!! Lots of fun in the pool playing 'splish splash' with Sammy, great food and lovely ice cream....have I already mentioned that??

England-France-Belgium-Holland-Germany-Austria-Italy-Switzerland-Back to France-back to England, total driving of 2500 miles, give or take. Granted some of the countries were fleeting visits.....ie we only stopped at the odd service station but we were travelling in a convoy on the way there and we were at the back!!! On the way home we took it a bit slower and managed to take in a bit more of the scenery, Switzerland was picture postcard in most places and we had a laugh trying to get through a small french village at 12pm....with no signposts??!! Good job we like adventures....sure beats a plane ride for having fun!!!

Just started raining ......again....do believe we will all be growing webbed feet before long!!
Complete non-productive day.........but the good intentions were there!!

Plan:
Get up
Check the puter
Scrap/create/make a mess
Get dressed
Out for dinner
Home and continue with the above mess making malarchy

Reality:
Get up (later than expected)
Check puter.....find out that I have lost a disk of honeymoon photo's. Do have a back up but that is on a hard drive that is bust and needs a new circuit board. Then put my new h/d in to find that the pc now does not like that it...doesn't like it's 'parameters', what are they? do I need to know? it liked them two weeks ago, whats changed? maybe they have had a row?.......getting annoyed!!!
Try to download some stuff from laptop to clear some space and find that the dvd rw does not work....never really used it in the 6 months we have had it cause have been using the 'my parameters are missing' hard drive. Spent unknown amount of time trying to locate receipt for said laptop so that I can go and wreak havoc on the poor unsuspecting staff at Curry's tomorrow (not that they would care). Do you think I have found it....no....but if I wanted to take back my shopping to ASDA that I bought 12 months ago I have that receipt (imagine a snarly face....thats me).
Time check.......bugger!!!!! Above took best part of 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!! 5!!!!!!!! Ok, bit of surfin' too (not the wavey water kind.....hippos don't surf!!!) but still 5 hours.

Good job I didn't have to cook!!

Nice interlude - Had a lovely meal out with my Grandad at a Gurkha restaurant in town - delish!!! I had Nepalese spinach......mmmmmmm.

Conclusion to this story is that this is all I have created all day..

Beautiful bird in Kenya (from honeymoon). Colours were even more vivid than this shows. Digi bits are c/o designer digitals.
Now to decide what to do with the rest of my evening......more puter or paper....

Family has gone home.....back to clogville, Kev's been at work all night.....and I am bored-bored-bored!!!!!
Should really have done something exciting like scrapped a wonderful layout full of inspiration or read a good book but couldn't be arsed to be honest. Just me, the apprentice (with constant switching to BB.....yes it has to be done), crisps and ice-cream (Italian diet.........??? bugger that!!), my pc and home budget (how far can you make money stretch? answers on a postcard please) and a numb bum from sitting on the sofa all night. Talking of Italian diet- lost 2 lbs last week......no, not down the back of the sofa!!
Had lots of fun with the teRaa's. Millions of kisses and hugs from Samuel.....always good. Went to the Sealife centre in Birmingham and Samuel was most excited to see all the 'fisses'. Did lots of shopping with my sis. A couple of Starbucks visits - they have just built a new one in our town which thrilled Jo!! And lots of spoiling of Samuel....must be done (even though his dad does not approve).
Will post photo's tomorrow......have not got the energy to walk upstairs to get the cable.

Yo ho ho, a pirates life for me......

....well if I knew Johnny (Depp that is) would be meeting me when I got there, my knapsack would be packed!!!!

If you hadn't guessed by now, we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 today - well raining all day (what do you expect, it's bank hol!!) so good excuse.

Anyway back to my point....Mr D. Now put him in his normal day clothes and yep, he is attractive but nothing to leave my husband for (hi Kev!!).........but hey presto, make him look like he hasn't washed in years and smells like the back end of a rancid donkey and for some reason he makes you swoon!!!!! Whats that all about?? To put the juiciest cherry on top of the delicious cake.......at one point his shirt is off. Again, I am not a tattoo person really but he is covered in symbols and writing and he looks gooooowwwwgeoooous!!!!!! Whats it all about ??

To be honest Orlando looks quite good aswell!! For any blokes out there.....Kiera looks good too!!!!!! (for the girls honestly, she looks way too good for someone who is living on a pirate ship!!!!!)

If you are a Pirates fan then you should go and see it - I think you need to have seen the second one to get some of it. If you go, try and sit through the end credits....there are a lot of them but if you can manage it there is a small scene at the very end.

Meet Nancy & Mavis (& Laura)

At a little church in our town there is a stall that sells second hand bits and bobs and in particular books. Now when we were little people we were told our parents that books were very important. We would never have been allowed to draw on them, tear pages or mistreat them in any way. Now here we are hunting down the oldest (& to our parents more important) books for the sole purpose of destroying them.....for the name of creativity and art. Somehow I feel that I should still check with my mum to make sure it is ok.........
Here is my little stash purchased today-money to charity which always makes one feel better......

The Taming of Laura is for my sis.......her name isn't Laura, she looks nothing like the bird on the cover (& neither does her husband I might add!) and concorde never flies over where she lives but hey, I am sure she will transform it into something mighty fine !!!!!!

Whilst looking through the encyclopedia these fell out....

you have to excuse the flash but it is a bit dark here. They look like they are of two women playing tennis, no date on the negatives so not really sure what date they are.
Me being me I decided to try and give these ladies faces........shall we call them Nancy and Mavis????? Hi Nancy.....Hi Mavis.....anyone for tennis?

Becky update....livlier than before we even went away!! Eating like she has not been fed in a decade and trumping like she has eaten farmer McGregors whole cabbage patch!!! Vet did say that this whole thing may have happened because she may have a general 'gassey' condition - no kiddin Dr Doolittle..........

doggy days.....

She went downhill...Becky that is, and was taken back into doggy hospital yesterday. Today looks a bit brighter though....she is off her drip and food and medication staying where it should be (in her tum !!). Really thought she had had enough yesterday and was not looking forward to the prospect of what may be have been coming, she looked really old. Anyway, hopefully coming home tomorrow back to keep her mummy company and to hold the cap for me whilst I sing and dance to raise money for the growing bill!!!!!!
Past couple of weeks are finally taking a toll......lack of sleep, bad news, bad luck. Then I feel awful for saying bad luck - there are plenty of others out there who have it far worse - but in my world, just for tonight, I feel a bit fed up with it all.
Fed up of being at the bottom of the pile. There is always someone cleverer, sadder, iller (are they actually words?), more interesting, more fed up and generally just more than me.....get the message that I am fed up? Sitting on this 'puter all night does not help....reading some of the stuff that people write, sometimes you just wonder............
Missing my dog, sad about my dog, tired, feeling generally cack, headache....did I mention tired....but then again can't sleep. OH SHUT UP NOO NOO !!!!!!!!!
(can you imagine what actually goes on inside my head!!!!)
Going to bed to find all the good things in my head.........there are more than enough there to outweigh the cacky stuff I am sure........
Sorry if you are reading this and you have a genuine problem.....I do appologise !!! (does anyone actually read this?)

What a day!!!!!!!!

......that about sums it up. Missed the ferry back to uk due to a LONG traffic jam on the Dutch motorway so arrived home @ 3am - to be up again at 7.30 for work....so I was wide awake - NOT.
Had half a day so that I could get some sleep......but things are never that simple in my world!!!!
Kev picked Becky Boo up from the kennels only to find out that she was rushed into hospital/vets on Mon for a 'major' operation for a twisted stomach. Apparantly we were lucky she was where she was as it would have been unlikely that we would have noticed it....the lady at the kennels had seen it before so she rushed her in. If she hadn't have seen it then our little princess would have died by the morning. If that is not bad enough to come home to, imagine our delight at the £1000 bill that is rising by the day as she has more medication to get her better!!!! Can't complain though....at least she is getting better.
Here she is on a healthier day......
Gorgeous ain't she!!!

By the way, had a great weeks holiday.......will post about that once today is done with!!!!! Now i need sleep....................................................

Hiya...just a quick moment to post so that I can answer a tag from bev and I do not want her to think I am not responding...........7 things about me.......
1) I am awfully slow at almost everything....scrapping....getting ready.....taking a shower....the list continues and I should probably add blogging and answering tags to the list !! (except driving....i do that a bit too fast....never anything in between for me!!!!!)
2) Apparantly I am annoying cause I make 'bullfrog' noises and I pick at my fingers - doesn't that make me sound attractive!!.....my sister is sitting next to me complaining of such things that I do.........
3) I do not have much confidence but I think I hide it well with my big mouth and hopefully humour ??!!
4) Back to number 1......I love driving. Probably due to spending a lot of time in the car with my dad. I did want to be the first female formula 1 driver but never quite made it!!
5) Prefer salad and veg to meat anyday !!
6) I am a bit OCD........but that is the way I am so get used to it (Jo & Kev)!!!
7) Last but not least I cannot make a decision to save my life.......I mean I am really bad at it.....really really bad at it.........finding these 7 'things' has been a real issue!!!!!!

End of a long day......actually fortnight. Just returned from Manchester for the funeral of my father in law who died last week.
Despite being a sad day for most it was also a nice day because I got to meet a lot of Kevins family, aunts, uncles and lots of cousins. When we were younger we tended to meet our relatives at weddings and christenings but as we get older it unfortunately, more often, becomes funerals....shame really.
One of Kev's cousins brought some photographs with her (I actually unbelievably have none of Kev's family and only one of him). The quality of this one is not great despite a bit of rework but anyway....it shows Kev Snr in more healthier days. By all accounts he was quite a ladies man......

We pray he has gone to a good place........God Bless.
